HeartSine samaritan PAD Pad-Pak: Part Numbers & Replacement

The HeartSine samaritan PAD is the simplest AED in the category to maintain, because it does something no other manufacturer does: the pads and the battery are the same part. One cartridge, one expiration date, one thing to track.

Part numbers at a glance

Fits the samaritan PAD 350P, 360P and 450P.

One cartridge, one date

On most AEDs you track two expiration dates that rarely align — pads on one cycle, battery on another. The Pad-Pak collapses both into a single sealed cartridge, typically rated around four years from manufacture. You check one date, you order one part, and you replace it in seconds by sliding the old cartridge out and the new one in.

The trade-off is worth understanding: because the two components share a cartridge, an expired battery forces a pad replacement and vice versa. You cannot replace just one. In practice this rarely costs anything, since both would be approaching end of life together anyway — but it does mean a rescue that depletes the battery also consumes the pads.

Pediatric coverage

The Pediatric Pad-Pak PAD-PAK-02 is a complete second cartridge, not just different pads — it carries its own battery and its own expiration date. If children may be treated at your site, keep one alongside the adult cartridge and diary both dates. Swapping between them is a single physical action, which makes it one of the faster paediatric transitions of any AED.

After a rescue

Replace the Pad-Pak after any deployment. Because the cartridge contains the battery as well as the electrodes, a used Pad-Pak should be considered spent regardless of how brief the incident was.

Frequently asked questions

What is a HeartSine Pad-Pak?

A Pad-Pak is a single sealed cartridge containing both the electrode pads and the battery for a HeartSine samaritan PAD. It carries one expiration date and is replaced as a complete unit.

What Pad-Pak does my HeartSine take?

The Adult Pad-Pak is part PAD-PAK-01 and the Pediatric Pad-Pak is PAD-PAK-02. An FAA-approved aviation version is available as PAD-PAK-07. All fit the samaritan PAD 350P, 360P and 450P.

Can I replace just the HeartSine battery?

No. The battery is integrated into the Pad-Pak cartridge along with the electrodes, so the whole cartridge is replaced together.
