| Good Samaritan Protection | Conditional civil immunity. Protection for AED program owners depends on meeting Maryland's AED program registration and operational requirements administered by MIEMSS. |
|---|---|
| Medical Direction | Required. Programs must register with the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS) and have medical direction. |
| Training | Required. Designated responders must complete CPR/AED training. |
| Maintenance & Testing | Required per manufacturer guidelines. |
| EMS Notification | Required. AED programs must register with MIEMSS. |
