FASPLINT HALFBACK Vacuum Splint, Head to Hips Spinal Splinting

Item Number: FSH 1000
$249.00

Description

FASPLINT HALFBACK immobilizes the spine from head to hips rather than head to heel. That shorter footprint is the entire point: it fits where a full board or full body splint cannot, which is most vehicle extrications and nearly every confined space rescue. Compact to store, comfortable for the patient, and reusable.

Why it fits your program

A seated patient in a wrecked car is the classic case. A full-length device has nowhere to go, so crews either force it or improvise. HALFBACK covers the cervical, thoracic, and upper lumbar spine, which addresses the injury pattern that actually matters, then hands off to a stretcher or full device once the patient is clear. Standard equipment for vehicle rescue teams, confined space teams, and industrial rescue programs.

What is included

  • FSH 1000: FASPLINT HALFBACK only
  • FSH 1500: HALFBACK with carry case
  • FSH 3000: HALFBACK with carry case and compact vacuum pump

Compatibility

FSH 1000 and FSH 1500 need a vacuum pump you already own. FSH 3000 includes the compact pump, sized to match the splint for restricted-access work. HALFBACK is designed to transition to a full length device or stretcher after extrication, so it pairs naturally with the FASPLINT FULLBODY, the EVAC-U-SPLINT Adult Vacuum Mattress, and the CombiCarrier II. FASPLINT extremity splints handle limb injuries on the same patient.

Program context

Because HALFBACK is an extrication device, its position on the apparatus matters more than most equipment: it needs to be reachable from outside the vehicle without unpacking a compartment. Run an extrication drill with it at least annually so crews know the handoff sequence to a full device. Check vacuum retention on the standard inspection cycle.
