Description
SAM® Pelvic Sling II is the first and only force-controlled circumferential pelvic belt. Featuring an optimized one-piece design, it is scientifically proven to safely and effectively reduce and stabilize open-book pelvic ring fractures. This item is single-use and is applied once during the emergency.
The patented SAM® AUTOSTOP buckle avoids over-tightening or under-tightening. Once optimal compressive force is reached, two prongs activate and click to confirm correct application. The sling is then secured with its Velcro® system strap.
Why it fits your program
Pelvic fractures bleed into a space no one can compress by hand, and the window to stabilize is short. Ground EMS, air medical, tactical and military medics, and hospital trauma bays carry the Pelvic Sling because it removes the guesswork: the buckle tells the responder when compression is right, rather than leaving it to feel. Single units suit a per-bag or per-rig build. Cases of 24 are the practical choice for fleet standardization, station caches, and agencies that consume slings through training and real use.

Compatibility
The Pelvic Sling II is applied directly to the patient and requires no driver, frame, or accessory. It is radiolucent-friendly in practice, so it can remain in place through imaging and transfer. Sizing is by patient circumference at the greater trochanters, not by body weight, so confirm the range in the size table above rather than estimating. The Military version matches the Standard size range in an olive drab colorway.
Program context
Because the sling is single-use, agencies that stock only one or two run out at the worst moment. Most services keep one on each response unit plus a case in the station reserve, and rotate through the reserve as training and real calls consume them. It pairs naturally with the rest of a trauma response build: tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, chest seals, and a litter or backboard for extrication.
