Why biological monitoring matters
Chemical indicators and indicator tape confirm that a load was exposed to sterilization conditions. Only a biological spore test confirms that the process actually inactivated spores. Most infection control protocols call for documented biological testing on a regular schedule, and many state boards and accrediting bodies expect those records on request.
