A typical AED Plus program from day one: pads and batteries age on different clocks, which is why most owners pair replacements with a calendar reminder or our maintenance packages.
Industry-leading electrode shelf life. One replacement covers roughly the same window as your battery set.
Standby life in a properly maintained unit. Frequent self-tests, extreme temperatures, and rescues shorten it.
Plan on two to three pediatric pad replacements for every adult pad cycle if you protect children on site.
The AED Plus takes ten consumer-style Type 123 lithium batteries, but the replacement procedure matters. Five minutes, no tools.
Turn the AED Plus face down and open the battery well cover. Have your full 10-pack of new Type 123 lithium batteries ready before removing any old cells.
Never mix old and new cells. Remove every battery, then install the fresh set top to bottom following the numbered column order molded into the battery well.
Press the battery reset button inside the compartment so the device registers a brand-new set, then close the cover.
Power the unit on for a self-test and confirm the status indicator shows a green check. Log the replacement date and set a reminder for your next cycle.
ZOLL CPR-D Padz carry an industry-leading five-year shelf life, while Pedi-Padz II and Stat-Padz II last two years. Always go by the expiration date printed on the pad packaging, and replace pads immediately after any rescue use since AED electrodes are single-use.
The AED Plus runs on ten Duracell Type 123 lithium batteries installed as a complete set, with roughly five years of standby life in a properly maintained unit. ZOLL specifies Duracell Type 123 cells, so we sell them as a validated 10-pack (part 8000-0807-01) with full shelf life remaining.
The AED Plus self-tests regularly. When battery power runs low the status indicator window shows a red X and the unit emits an audible chirp. Replace all ten batteries as a set as soon as either occurs, and press the internal reset button so the device recognizes the new set.
Use Pedi-Padz II for children under 8 years old or under 55 pounds. When Pedi-Padz II are connected, the AED Plus automatically adjusts to pediatric energy levels. If pediatric pads are not available in an emergency, current resuscitation guidance permits adult pads on a child with proper placement, but every site that protects children should stock Pedi-Padz II.
CPR-D Padz are the flagship one-piece adult electrode: faster to place, five-year shelf life, and required for the AED Plus Real CPR Help feature that coaches compression rate and depth in real time. Stat-Padz II are a two-piece, two-year alternative at a lower price that does not provide CPR feedback. For most programs we recommend CPR-D Padz.
